About Goodwill West Texas
Goodwill-West Texas began in 1983 and today it is comprised of 35 counties consisting of over 35,000 square miles from Odessa to Eastland. Approximately 175 employees make up Goodwill-West Texas, working with donations, janitorial services, grounds keeping and retail.

Goodwill-West Texas is a dedicated employment resource. We provide training and assist in helping people find employment. We believe that a rewarding job experience is one of the most fulfilling parts of a person’s life and is a necessary element of self-esteem.

Tammy -
Goodwill-West Texas has given Tammy something to live for.
Tammy is a wife and mother to a college student. Originally from Alabama, Tammy has lived in Abilene for the past 6 years and has worked for Goodwill-West Texas for the past 5 years. Tammy, although she doesn't look it, struggles with Bipolar Disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder.
Before working at Goodwill-West Texas, Tammy didn't receive the support she needed in the work place. "Other employers didn't understand me," said Tammy.
The people at Goodwill work with me though and have helped me to deal with my own problems." Not only does Tammy enjoy the people she works with, but she also enjoys her daily interactions with customers. "They are caring people," said Tammy. "It's nice being able to catch up with them and my job has given me an opportunity to mentor others."
Tammy credits Goodwill to helping her manage her disorders, develop patience and grow as an individual. "I probably wouldn't be alive if it weren't for this," said Tammy. "Goodwill-West Texas has basically given me a reason to live."
