Goodwill-West Texas’ mission is to provide opportunities for people who face challenges or barriers to finding employment. Goodwill’s main goal is to provide hope, dignity, and self-sufficiency for people who have disabilities or face disadvantages in life.

Today, information began circulating regarding an issue that occurred last week at a Goodwill store in Brady. Goodwill-West Texas has a direct relationship with the woman whose house burned down in Brady, Texas. This woman independently reached out to our organization to make us aware that NEITHER she nor her family received ANY of the donations removed from our store. We strive to be good stewards of our donations, and we have strict policies regarding donations and the stewardship of those goods.

Occasionally, when needs outside the scope of our mission arise in which our help will be beneficial, Goodwill-West Texas will step in to help. In the case of a family’s house burning down in Brady, we are doing just that.

Goodwill West-Texas exists to be a good partner in the community in a way that aligns with its mission. We have reached out to the woman who was impacted by the fire to gain an understanding of her and her family’s needs and will be making a private donation of goods to assist with their recovery.

If you have any further questions or would like to donate to the family, please contact Director of Communications and Development, Danielle Robertson at: drobertson@goodwillwesttexas.org
