WHO WE ARE
Since 1983, Goodwill West Texas has been changing lives by providing opportunities for people with barriers to employment. Our mission is funded by the sale of donated goods in our retail stores, which include 14 stores and an e-commerce platform. We are a nonprofit organization governed by a local CEO and board of directors based in Abilene, and we serve a 35-county territory in West Texas.
It takes a variety of jobs, skills and people to help Goodwill run.
From sales associates, to cashiers, to donation door attendants and managers, it takes a variety of jobs to provide a best-in-class thrifting experience. Because our nonprofit is funded through the sale of donated goods, each retail team member makes an important contribution to our mission.
Our mission services team is focused on providing job training, employment support and community outreach programs. These positions play a vital role in fulfilling our mission externally through our Career Centers and other mission programs.
Goodwill's e-commerce platform brings the fun of thrifting to a shopper's fingertips! Our e-commerce professionals manage online sales, customer service and the overall digital shopping presence for Goodwill West Texas.
Our administrative team ensures the smooth operation of its programs, services and retail operations. They provide essential behind-the-scenes support that helps fulfill our mission. Based out of Abilene, departments like human resources, technology, facilities, marketing and more fall into this category.
Our transportation team keeps our mission moving across 35 counties and 10 cities in West Texas. Drivers provide safe and efficient movement of goods and materials to contribute to the overall success of our organization.
Our Donation Services Unit warehouse in Abilene handles the storage, sorting and distribution of donated items. Warehouse associates may assist with loading and unloading of trucks, forklift driving, and salvage operations.
We are committed to the well-being of our team, which is why full-time employees earn paid time off (PTO) and are eligible to enroll in a comprehensive benefit plan including:
We believe in intentional and continual improvement of our organization and of ourselves. One of the ways we fulfill our mission internally is by providing personal and professional growth opportunities for all employees through our GoodLife mission program.
